Speak the Truth in Love

Truth sets you free, as written in John 8:32.
You cannot be set free unless by the truth. Lying is the character of Satan; he is the father of lies, and there’s no truth in him. John 8:44. The fall of man in the garden of Eden was an outcome of deception, and they defied God’s instructions and followed the liar. The man knows the right thing to do but deviates and believes a lie.
So lying is the weapon the enemy uses a lot.

Proverbs 19:9 ‘A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall perish.

He that lies shall perish, and that’s the consequence of lying.
It hurts a lot if someone is a false witness against you. Joseph was a victim of this in Potiphar’s wife’s house, and so he suffered for what he did not deserve.

With every lie you tell, you have to convince yourself that it is true and maintain the lie with more lies.
This, therefore, compromises the integrity of the truth. Lies lead to compromised belief because it makes it hard to process and believe the word of God.
You might end up believing funny things like myths and evil traditions.

Truth does matter, so we ought to speak the truth all the time to enjoy God’s presence and not die like Ananias and Saphira in the Acts of the apostle -after lying about the exact amount of money they sold for the Land.

Sometimes lying seems easier than telling the truth.
Do you speak the truth from your heart at all times?
How many times have you lied to your spouse?
To your boss so that you evade responsibility?
Some ladies lie a lot about their marital status, especially if they don’t like the man pursuing them. -I have done this too; Father, forgive me for lying.

Together with some other missionaries, a missionary friend visited one of these countries that do not allow Bibles into their country. Upon reaching the immigration, he was asked if he had carried bibles, he said yes without hesitating, and they asked him to hand over the bibles, or else they would not be allowed in the country. I tend to wonder what could have been the outcome if he had lied?

God desires that we speak out the truth at all times. Better the consequences of the truth than a cool, programmed marinated lie.
Practice speaking the truth however much it seems impossible; ask the Holy Spirit to help you out.

Have you ever thought of this?

You lie, and then, afterward, the truth is revealed?

Moses of the Bible wrote, “God is not a man that He should lie.” Numbers 23:19. Moses walked with Him, and he knew that God does that, which He says.

Truth builds our trust in God and brings healing in this ailing world. Also, truth bonds and elongates relationships.

No one likes to be lied to.

Lies have cost people their lives, jobs, and opportunities.

Cain killed his brother, and when God asked him where his brother was, he gave an answer indicating he didn’t know.

I want to urge you to speak the truth, however difficult it is -just say it. You are saving generations. May God help us.
